Just recently got my dash vents working again after fixing a vacuum hose leak. But now the vent fan makes an annoying clicking sounds at all speeds. Has anyone ever had that issue and successfully fixed/replaced the fan? I assume some disassembly of the dash is required?

it is probably a leaf caught in the blower. it will eventually go away as the leaf disintegrates, although a removal of the blower motor assembly might not be a bad idea any ways to clean it...

I second that statement. Either way getting the blower out would let you know for sure. Blowers are dirt cheap in the local yard too, if you needed one. My truck is on it's third that I'm aware of.

I found a mouse nest in mine. Better check it out

what kind of clicking does it change rate with fan speed if not look at the blendor actuators

I can remove the glovebox of my '00 and see the blower motor. There's no cabin air filter so it looks like it wouldn't be a bad job. As others already said, there's just a leaf or stick in there and some compressed air could fix it.

You would access the fan differently on an '03 Ranger. You go in from under the hood. Yours might be different but you might to check You Tube first

Yea mine would come out from the engine bay also I believe. I'm saying I can see the actual squirrel cage from inside to possibly dislodge whatever is stuck.
