gotcha. ive never used my lincoln for anything thicker than 14-16 gauge steel.
my 220 can be used to weld thin stuff, like 20 gauge, but its hard to control the heat.
thickest ive welded is 1/2 rebar. im getting ready to make the m.mounts for my engine and ill be using 3/8 plate and breaking out the 220 for that. i want that sucker strong
