Buy a ranger project or save for house?

50K is a down payment around here. :annoyed:

$50k was 10 acres, story and 3/4 house, one car garage, chicken house and a really nice 40x60 barn that is soon to be a shop. :D

exactly, thats why im thinking about the ranger. its perfect and exactly what im looking for and ill keep it forever.

Since we bought this house (6-7 years ago.) I have bought a dozen RBVs and a half dozen other vehicles... Projects come and go, buy the house.

One right down the street from me, 2 bed, 1 bath and a garage. Needed a little interior updating and new siding sold for 14k not to long ago.

Sent from, wait how did this get here?

Get the house. Shop around for a house you want tho. If you plan on working on cars, make sure you get a garage that suits your future use.

When I was looking for a house I told the agent a garage is very important. I now have a house with a 3 car garage, 11 ft ceiling and a pit.

Well I wouldn't exactly be thinking that way. Never know when someone is going to T-Bone you on the highway somewhere..

When I was looking for a house I told the agent a garage is very important. We were at one place that had a decent garage but it had a hole in the wall. She said "it's just a garage". I should have fired her right there, but I didn't.

Being t-boned on a highway would pretty much make it forever... probably won't be caring too much about either houses or Rangers after that.

One of us is going to be in pretty tough shape if my Ranger changes hands...

Let's see, how many vehicles I've had appreciated in value? The answer is zero. Finally bought a house, sold it and doubled my money. Bought another house, sold it and doubled my money. Bought another house, economy went in the toilet and I'll still make money. Plus, you don't have to pay taxes on your mortgage interest.

Vote for the house with a toy box to put the toys in first then get the toys later !

House, most definitely. :headbang:

I have saved hard over this past year to purchase a home of my own. I just so happen to be shopping at the right time too. I found my home, good size, 2-car garage, decent neighborhood, a few fix-it issues, but overall what you might consider a 2nd purchase home instead of a first time purchase. I already started my loan process on it and should be hearing back on it this week.

What they said. I have plenty of RBV parts scattered around my friends and parents houses, but no place to take everything to get my rig built and finished. Now I kinda wish I had all that money to put up for a down payment...

That is kind of the boat I was in, luckily dad wanted to see it through almost as much as I did and offered up a place to do it. I knew that beforehand or else I wouldn't have started it though.

I am glad it worked out how it did, if I had bought a house instead I would have had to deal with selling it to buy the one I bought... because I highly doubt I could have found one that fit me as well as this one for the money.

One came up for sale that I would really like to get, but can't seem to swing it right now. Small 2 bedroom house, 40x40 shop with office and bathroom, a few other outbuildings on 3.75 acres on the edge of town, asking $38,000. But all the banks around here want 20% down after the economy crash. $7600 is a lot to have to come up with in cash.

HOUSE HOUSE HOUSE HOUSE

Ya I hear that. kinda not wanting to do my taxes till the deadline since paying off the house last year. I have a pretty good idea of what it's going to be but still get that weired feeling of the unknown.
