ive been planing this for the past month and have official begun by ordering the distributor, cap, adapter, rotor, high pressure fuel line, universal 10 psi fuel pump and pre-filter, i will also be doing a cooling upgrade and alternator upgrade while im in the bay. picked a 4.0 radiator today i hope it doesn't leak. also order new water pump since mine is hitting 10+ years and new hoses. wish me best of luck and i plan to submit this to be add in the library as well when im done.

You can get the rad pressure tested before you put it in...I don't even think they charge you for that...and a rad shop can probably patch it if needed...a good investment either way...saves you time and trouble of installing a leaky rad and keeps those nasty over heats from leading to a cracked head...

yes Rico already did, and Cammeddrz has been helping me through the forum on this. the thing is people in the 2.8 forum are wanting more info on this swap and ill be doing it with an automatic and i plan on retaining my cruise control. so mine will cover the other extreme he wasn't able to, since his was a manual without cruise control.


UPDATE:
Rain cats and dogs last night, was planning on going back to pick-n-pull to pick the one complete 2.8 tbi i found within 20+ vehicles, i believe it had the complete wire harness but the ecm was for an auto. need a damn manual ecm anyways i really don't feel like becoming a pig in mud just to get the parts, so i will continue my pick somewhere between tue-friday.

most of the parts will be in tomorrow, but the build will have to be put off a week due to finals coming up. having the radiator pressure tested with my dad Friday. ill keep yall informed

base comparison is 33" tires on a 3.73 axle, 10mpg no matter what
im really interested too to see what i can gain, i know the automatic is killing me though

walked out side earlier today and saw a whole bunch of packages on my doorstep
all the parts except the carb/manifold gasket have came in,
started ripping open the boxes to realize the fuel pump came with a filter, and JEGS sent me the wrong damn size fuel hose
called them up, im waiting for them to call me back, sending the fuel hose and the extra fuel filter back. will be going to pick in pull tomorrow hopefully to get the tbi, wiring harness and ecm. i hope 10psi is enough to run the tbi, ive read from some che*y forums that is need like 50-70psi and ive read it only need 7psi, idk trial and error i guess

Well, if you are running a carb you don't want it more than 7 psi...I have an electric fuel pump that ranges between 4.5 and 7 and it is perfect for my Motorcraft 5200 carb.

And this time I actually kept the part number in case I need to replace it again...last one gave me about 5 years of service and sat for another 5...

don't do a 10psi pump, that won't be high enough (gm tbi needs more than 11, that pump will always be maxed out, and will fail), on the 3 total i have done i used the inline, high-pressure pump from the EFI bronco II, it can do way more than is needed, and the regulator just sends the excess pressure back to the tank. new they are $80.00, from a J/Y like $20.00

they already have nipples to clamp hose on and everything. they work great

I just saw this. I would love to be able to tell you about power and mileage gains, but I really don't know because at the same time we did this I also went from 3.73 gears to 4.88. I can tell you that it definatly runs better. I can also walk you through it and send pictures if that helps at all.
