ThanksNow that that's confirmed, let me look in my stash and see if I have an extra...
Looks like that’s for a 95. Pretty sure mine is specific to 93/94Will this work?
I appreciate at it but it looks like the explorer and ranger have different harnesses and pin outs. Sounds like it’s not a direct swap with a rangerI have this one . Truck had a cracked head .Drove it around the back acre to check transmission out . Removed the set-up and put it in a 90 Ranger . Will it work?
I’m not sure I guess. My pcm ends with “UC” and was told that was for calibration. No clue what would happen with the same numbers but a “YB” at the end pcm was installed.I haven't heard that before. It'd be interesting if true cause the Chilton/Haynes manuals I have show a single wiring diagram for both each year. They have been wrong before.
I do know that some things changed by years though. And depending on model. My 91 Explorer harness and 92 Explorer ECU worked out fine. The 94 Ranger engine was wired for SEFI but didn't have a camshaft position sensor required for SEFI to work. The current 94 Aerostar engine wasn't wired for SEFI but had a completely different engine harness. I had to keep the 91 harness to make things plug in...

So what’s the difference between the two prefixes at the end of the pcm part number? I’m guessing the California emission one is set up for egr?@Rangergrader
It does not matter whether the PCM came from a Ranger, B4000, Explorer, Navajo, Mountaineer or Aerostar it does matter if it is the Federal version (non-EGR) or a California emissions version SFi-MAF-EDiS (EGR). Both engine versions were available in the 93-94 Ranger, B4000, Explorer and Navajo; I am uncertain about the Mountaineer but know that those Aerostars only ran Federal.
