Blinker and other Electrical issues w/ 1990 ranger

This is my first post here, sorry if I do anything wrong.
I have a 1990 ranger custom with the 2.3 and many issues. Currently none of my blinkers come on when I use the multifunction switch but all four come on solid when I brake. This started yesterday after they were working perfectly so I have no idea what might have caused it. All of my fuses look fine, and a visual inspection of the multifunction switch didn't turn up much. this was a problem that the previous owner said he had fixed at a shop but apparently its back. Overall, the wiring it the truck is pretty bad and has clearly had a lot of "homebrew" fixes done. So, this might be an impossible thing to track down. Any suggestions would be very appreciated

Really need to look at some grounding points. Bad ground can cause a lot of weird problems; so that side of things needs to be checked before looking at other causes.

Make sure a ground wire's ring terminal is securely bolted to its mounting location, that it's not rusted or corroded, and that the wire(s) aren't broken from the terminal. Ford uses Black as a ground wire color.
These are the grounds critical to the lighting system:
G101 - Top front of RH fender apron, near the starter relay.
G102 - Top LH side of radiator support.
G103 - Top of LH fender apron.

That being said, if the grounds prove good I'd be real suspicious of a failure in the multifunction switch, based on your description.

Got it fixed! it was the flasher relay, thank you for the help!
