My credo
Use what you got.. not what you want
Just finishing up a dana 44 swap
On my 93. Not gonna say this is the way to do it but it is how I did it. Hopefully somebody finds some of this useful or at least interesting.

Front suspension:
Spring under
5" bds lift springs for front on a YJ
Factory ranger shackles
Rear shocks for 02 rav4
Spring bracket from slag factory

Rear suspension:
Factory but with lift shackles and add a leafs.

Front axle is the wide track waggy 44
Wide track is not ideal but it was only 50$ everything knuckle out is from a 90 dodge w150
This is a great way to get flat top 5x5.5
Bought the truck for the knuckles and made money parting it out.
Detroit locker got it used its a 3 series so I had to run thick cut gears to get to 4.56
High steer arms from src precision products
I think they have been closed for many years now but i had them around.
One ton tre ends

Rear axle
Jeep 8.25 from 97 xj with disc brakes from first gen liberty. To do the brake swap you will need wheel studs for a tj front axle. Why? It was already geared 4.56 and had it lying around. Not ideal but use what you got.

Nice. Did you sell anything to offset the costs? A buddy of mine did a SAS on his truck and made around $200 on the conversion. Very much a wheeler/dealer.

Trying to sell the previous lift and axle now. Most of this stuff I already had from projects never finished from years past.

Should also mention the transmission was bad when i bought the truck. Couldn't find one of the right year m5od so it got a much newer one it was from a 2002 if memory serves.
Being 4x4 it fit no problem because the speedo is on tcase. However, the junk yard cut the shifter off. The shifter was different internally and externally. So i welded a wrench to the stub left by the junk yard still looking for a boot that fits it decent.

I gotta say... I like that tube bumper. Is that one you fabbed up?

Truck looks pretty tough with the SAS...

Nah I got it from Amazon. Its a smittybuilt jeep bumper part number 76721.

Quite a bit of welding.
Nothing really lined up.

Wow it looks like it was designed for that truck!

Yea Im happy with how it looks. Really didn't know what to expect but thought it was worth the risk for the price. My pipe bender is missing the tooling to do any pipe small enough To look right on a bumper.

Can you send a picture of how you plated the crumple zone and how you mounted up the front parts of the leafs.

I got a 93 and some 78-79 f150 axles, front is retuned, and I'm trying to do leafs but can't get much in depth info about the swap.

Thanks

Sorry for the late reply just saw this.
As for plating the crumple zone i had cut some plate into small pieces and welded then in the low areas then ground it flat. I'm not an expert so that may or may not be a great idea. I'll snap some pictures when i get out of work if stops raining.

Thanks man.

Could you also snap a picture of the front leaf mounts when Le you're at it too?

Thanks

I think I'm just bad at taking pictures lol not really much to see. I tried to get some steering in the pic as well because I think that might be a challenge If you go with spring over. My other concern is with spring pad placement i think you might have to outboard the springs more than me because one perch is cast into the pig on mine.
