So I started to make the front of my bell housing it looks over kill right now but a lot more material will be removed before I'm finished. Just where I'm at

The first ring on the back is to make sure I clear the flywheel clutch assembly. I machined a register on the plate .050" thick for the ring to centre on for welding

As far as I am now hope to get lots done on the weekend.

Did have the motor running on the floor the other day ran like a clock just as the guy promised.

I'll be keeping an eye on this thread.. A friend of mine put an OM617 in his 92 4Runner, and I believed he ran a yota 5 spd behind it with an adapter.

Personally I will be going to a c6 when this trans goes. I like a automatic behind this diesel

I'm running a fm145 and transfer case from a ranger originally hopefully after this weekend ill have something Cool for you guys I just can't wait to drive it

I perfer the standard tranny as the diesel performs a little better being you can use the turbo to its full extent

I disagree. With the automatic you always have the turbo even at low Rpms. With the manual you have to spool it up every time.

We had a 04 5.9 cummins 6 speed and it was great till you were on a good pull and had to shift. The moment you pressed in the clutch you lost the turbo and it was a sob to get it back.
Traded it in on a 05 5.9 auto and have loved it ever since. Always have the turbo and never a worry
Our trailer is a 43 foot 4 horse with living quarters. We now haul it with a fl60 freightliner with a 8.3 cummins.

Again, to each there own. Does not bother me one bit. Just stating why I prefer the automatic.

I daily drive a standard car so I have nothing against manuals :)

Ya it's all in the tuning and what your using it for and the test of the truck would fail long before anything else if your towing all about the economy for me

Been working on the cone of the bell housing hope to get some more pics up soon
