86 B2.

The factory radio (clockless, electronically tuned, no cassette) no longer works after i had to pull the dash.

I had some issues with it before, so i bought another radio (factory style, just with clock and cassette)....its doing same shit the other ones doing.

Both will light up, power up, display is green, static comes through the speakers, everything works, but there is no display (numbers are gone)...it will not switch bands, nor will the stations change. Volume and equalizer works.

Do i have two bad radios or something in the wiring i messed up doing the dash? From what i can tell the display and tune dont have different power from everything else.

Any idea?

Either they are both bad or there’s a wiring fault somewhere. Factory radios weren’t the best.

Just sing like nobody is watching my friend.

I guess ill pull the one from the ranger then and try that....it works

Look for grounds.
After i posted this i thought about that. Got out my EVTM it says its G200 ground....which is down by the column IIRC. Im gonna check that today
