looked to be a 98-01ish ranger, regular cab, short bed. now here's the cool part. he was running a forced induction 347 powered by propane. not sure what kind of power he was making but it had no problem breaking loose the 335 wide slicks. i hear he ran 10-11's last time at the drag strip.

A lot of Rangers and S-10's were popular for autocrossing. I used to see them a bunch of times when I ran autocross back in the 80's. Those trucks look so cool!!

yeah shane, that turbo coupe is a personal favorite of mine. i've got a thing for TC's though haha. and stray, what got me was the power plant (and choice of fuel) not the fact that it was a ranger. i'd love to autocross a ranger, but it would probably be awd.

I'd like to do that with mine at some point in the future.

The fuel I understand. What do you pick out as strange about the power plant? That's it's a blown 347 in a Ranger, or that it's a blown 347 in autocross. If the latter why?

I do too. I wouldn't mind owning one some day. I also wouldn't mind a Lincoln Mark VII.

EDIT: Like this one. I'd do a T5 swap though.....

it's not a 5.0, everybody does the 5.0 swap. it was nice to see something different. it was pretty apparent that this one had some serious time and money into it. not that i'm dumbfounded by it or anything, just a little surprised. very cool.

shane, i looked at a couple marks before i bought the bird. also looked at a few cougars. since you couldnt get the mark with a manual, that was out of the question. i really like the aero-nose birds though so when i found one i liked, i jumped on it.

An 347 is a stroked out 5.0l:icon_hornsup:

There are a couple strokers on here, not exactly unheard of.

My favorite car :headbang:

I think I jizzed my pants when I saw the full size version of that Thunderbird.

I will forever have a sweet spot for the four-eyed birds!

I had one of those. Got down to 10 seconds. It was a lot of fun.

Sent from the front seat of my Ranger while sitting in traffic.

Mine was all stock, I would love to get another one and have fun with it.

Problem is they all have 20 years of beating and most show it. :annoyed:

I was there too in my blue 2012 Focus. I went over and talked to the guy for a little bit about the ranger and got some pics. He said it has a 550 ci bbf supercharged and a c6. He used to drag it a lot but now just autocross. His best was a 10 flat at 138mph. The fire wall was set back a good amount and the trans tunnel is quiet big, the pedals are moved over a lot. This thing sounded BA. Here are the pics I took.
