ok guys ive done all my research but im second guessin myself. i looked at countless pictures on trs and looked all over at different rangers(littlebigfoots come to mind) but i havent been able to get my hands on a Gen 4 ranger in person with close enough lift as mine with 35s to see what mine will look like. I have a 3 inch body lift on a 2001 4x4 ranger with a major t bar crank. ive got the plans to regear if needed but im wondering if i can fit 35 12.50s mounted on a 15x8 inch rim on my truck without them getting too close to the body. ive run 34 10.50 16's on the truck before the body lift with the t bars crank and they cleared perfectly. any advise would be great. i dont wanna keep the 33's and id like to go bigger but dont wanna buy the bigger tires if they wont fit lol

I've got what they call a Gen5(suposedly, i really don't understand how the gens are seperated, but i'm not gonna go into it)....4" suspension and 3" body running 35's just fine. I'm on 15x10's w/ 4" backspace but am considering going 15x8 with 3.25" backspace.

As long as my flares are removed, I can completely twawk the thing out without a front sway bar. If the flares are on it, I tend to rip 'em off...thank you tires. lol.

we both have 2001s so other than i have a stepside bed its the same truck. how much room would you have fitment wise for the tires(35s) if you didnt have the superlift on the truck but just the body lift? too close for comfort or ok for light wheeling and pavement pounding

Stepsides have bigger fenders..... There's a good handful of guys that run just a bodylift on a stepside and 35x12.50's. And they pavement pound and lightly wheel. I've got the 'fleetside'/styleside bed...which are harder to fit bigger tires.

I had mine with 3" BL, maxed torsion bars, no flares, no valence, 35x12.50 on 15x10 w/ 4" bs for a few weeks. I found it to be a perfect sized truck....for the street. lol. Just wasn't comfortable enough to wheel it since it's my DD and I prefer it to look nice and straight like. I did rub the inner fender at full lock. It's totally doable on a stepside. Keeping the sway bar in the front is pretty much a must because you don't wanna stuff it.

FX4 thats dead on man. the shot of yours running down the road is exactly how i want mine to look. Damn nice Ranger by the way. i tossed my valace a year ago an the bumpper painted black looks good. i think ill paint mine black or color matched to the truck rather than buy a new valance like i'd planned. the way i figured i could fit a 35 no problem just wanted some fellow members with been there done that advise on the subject before i forked the 800 bucks over for tires. Im Mike by the way thanks alot man

One of my friends has an 04 i think. He's got 35's with just a 3 inch BL. I think the wheels are 15x8's (not sure of the backspacing, I think its 3.5-4)

No prob, Mike. I'm trying to find pics of the steppies I know with the BL and 35's. There's a guy on RF running the superlift and bodylift on a steppie and he's running 37's. You might find the 35 BL setup perfect for ya. But I wasn't too comfortable doing anything other than street driving....but then again, I'm styleside. And hell...I beat up my fenders now being double lifted on 35's. So....just think it out. Maybe even find someone near you with a jeep on 5's to test fit and drive around.

IIRC lbf did run 35's with just a body lift... I'll see if I can find a picture of it

In that pic I had rims with 4" BS. 15x10s. The swampers rubbed hard on the chassis and torsion bars. 35x12.5s are totally do-able. I wouldn't suggest going as wide as I did with out some spacers. Good bye wheel bearings though.

My lill girl was so cute then. There's not much original anymore besides the cab and motor and a little bit of the chassis

wheel bearings failure

Ok I am a lurker reading and studing the post, I just picked up a 03 FX4 II
plans are to do Superlift and run the KM2 33X12.5x15 on American Racing
AR23 15 X10 like the look of a deep rim but I keep seeing that everyone recommends 15 X 8 so wheels bearing don't wear out, how quick do they where out? I bought this to send some time with my two sons before the head off to Afganistan in Aug, next year don't want to send all the time in the garage if you know what I mean

I've got 40k on 35's with 15x10 w/ 4" bs....ontop of that, those went on the truck at 70k or so. My wheel bearings are tight, don't growl, and i'm only just thinking about replacing them for good measure since I scored a set of used oem ones with 20k on 'em. You won't hardly notice any accelerated wear on the bearings.

Tons of folks run 15x10's on their trucks without excessive wear issues at all. If anything, wheel bearings wear so minimally more than 15x8's, that you won't notice much of a difference in terms of 'time'. Tie Rods....that's another story.

yeah i was gonna say before he chimed in. i thinmk littlebigfoot had like 15 inch wide swampers lol if that clears im not worried about 12.50s at ALL. im working on a superlift though. hopefully my lovely US tax returns is enough to make a dent in the 1600 dollar price tag. either that or buy a new daily driver and just sas the old girl
