I would like to install an aftermarket RPM gauge that goes to 8k. my insterment panel has one though that goes to 6k. want I would like to know is will the new one interfere with the stock

First off... its a tachometer or tach as is normally called.

Second... no, the stock on wont effect the add-on and vice-versa.

Yea I know it call a Tech. but thank you. I ment that the stock one was in the insterment panel. I wont be using it though. I just did not want to have to cut the wire if not needed to, because I don't what to have the wires to beable to corode. I guess I could have just put a twist cap on it. but like I said thank you for the info.

8000 RPM huh? Just want to know how fast the engine is spinning when you float that valve huh?

hey now... some people come across a good deal and pick it up... my mustang's tach was WAY friggin off it turned out (so i put an autometer monster tach in)

which got stolen like 6 months later GAH!

someone should have let their bike warm up more before cranking it up that high

Some people just dont care about their stuff?!? :dunno:

(Its a random pic I found.)

lol, reminds me of this pic that i took many years ago... this is in my 89 mustang 5.0

that i am about 99% sure is 3rd gear, doing about 190km/h so around 118mph

I'm gonna say... 2.73 gears?

At least your moving, not just standing still, beating on it like the pic I posted.

From the GPS in my Ex:

Figured, I have 3.08s in my '94 Cobra. 3rd gear at 5000rpm is about 100mph. It has a chip the PO put in that eliminated the rev and top speed limits, so I've yet to find its top speed....160MPH and searching.

i've done 165mph in that mustang (3500rpm, .68 5th, 2.73, 235/75/r15 rear tires)

.68 OD ? What trans is that? T5 is .76 IIRC.

One of the tells that the battery is getting low on a 97-03 F-150 (maybe others too) is all the gauges peg out for a second right after you start it, of course it wasn't until after I got a new battery it hit me how awesome it would have been to get a pic of the speedo pegged at 100mph and 6k RPM :D
