IIRC when I was poking at pics when I discovered it I may have had the switch and ground reversed for that relay. In theory it shouldn't really matter but that is the first thing I am going to look into now that it is out of the truck.

If you are talking about having pins 85 and 86 on a relay switched, for most relays that isn't an issue (I've only seen them in circuit board mount relays and the ones going into fuse/relay boxes not the bigger ones like you have), if they're for some reason diode relays (where they have a diode across the relay coil instead of a resistor like normal) then that does make them mad but usually the diode will get hot and not like to work anymore... It's safest to connect pin 85 to ground and 86 to power for the control side of the relay, do whatever makes you happy on the switched side, you can flip 30 and 87 without much issue, you might lose a couple % of the thousands of rated switches if you have the supply on 87 instead of 30...

Yeah, its 30 and 87. Its just switching grounds for another relay.

I got tired of looking at my hideous intake. I slipped the TB back off and started hosing it down with brake cleaner to throw some paint at it. And the darn thing cleaned up really nice and I didn't have to paint it after all lol.



And I got the paddle wheel back in the dizzy so that is ready to back in.

It was blowing like crazy last night so I didn't get as much done as I wanted.

I did get the harness that goes across the front of the truck put back together and have the radiator and A/C condenser snugged back down.

I started routing the wiring under the heater box but I need to go thru that "additional wire" harness and pick out the wires I won't be using. I also think I am going to pull the front PS tire off to add accessibility... which I also couldn't do with the garage door closed.

I went to stab the dizzy in it last night and it hit my fancy heater hose elbow.

So I twisted on that a bit and now I think it might drop in... but I am not going to have much room for adjustment.

I am thinking I might just go to the smaller IH distributor cab and lose the collar.

So since I had to back off the elbow I need to drop the coolant back out of it again and pull that all back apart and reseal it.

Also went to put the weatherpack connectors on the distributor and distributor harness and the wire insulation is starting to crack/rot on the pickup already so I need to replace that again.

I went thru the "additional wiring" harness and thinned out everything I won't need. Most pertains to things like aftermarket dashes (fuel level, TPS position etc) and different ignitions (tach in, sensor ground etc) So I have it whittled down to just needing three, Fan 1, Fan 2 and tach out. I have the rest coiled and ziptied to stash somewhere out of the way to make sure in fact they will not be needed until after this thing is up and running.

As it sits right now, I am really only adding dealing with connecting six wires to the truck. Inner fender and front PS tire is off to aide in routing the wiring on that side under the heater box.

Actually 7, I keep forgetting the ground is loomed with battery power lol

So after I removed

Choke power wire
Start signal wire to DS
Key power to DS
Key power to DS coil
Tach signal from DS coil to dash
Efan power
Efan ground

I add:

Battery power to ECM
Ground to ECM
Key power to ECM
Fuel pump signal from ECM
Tach signal from ECM to dash
Efan signal to efan relays
Efan signal to dash idiot light (optional)

There is more that get "added" but it is just plug and play stuff. Wideband O2 just plugs in, temp sensor just plugs in, coil just plugs in etc.
