Hey there, spamming various sub-forums about my new '95:
It's a 3.0l auto 4wd truck. When I looked at it the seller had it idling for an unknown amount of time before I arrived and I took it down the road and back. It ran okay, shifted through all the gears, but sounded awful and misfired.
Now that it's in my possession I see it's incredibly hard to start cold. I've already replaced the ECT as a precaution as well as new Motorcraft plug wires since the cheap set that came on the truck had some broken connectors under the boots. Fuel pressure is almost nil after sitting but once running is a steady 35 psi. It rises to 42 or so when the FPR is unplugged, as it should. The truck had a ton of vacuum leaks when I got it and a broken EGR tube. I've patched all that together. Anything I'm overlooking or missing here? An obvious question is, what codes are coming up? I don't have a code reader (I've got a specialty reader for my Volvo so never needed one since everything else I own is pre-OBD) but will try to get on that soon. Interestingly, the check engine light does not come one with KOEO which I figured it would? 4wd hi and lo no longer flash on start-up either...
I don't have a Haynes or Chilton, but I downloaded the Ford '92-'96 Service Information DVD years ago for my IDI 250
