167,000 miles, been a great truck, I love it, but.........new clutch year and a half ago. 6months ago, 4th gear went out. Dripping oil, not burning it, which is a good thing, I think. Now, it's developed a problem where it doesn't start. I tried disconnecting the MAF sensor, still won't start. I got some MAF cleaner and sprayed it real good. Put it back together, and it started right up and ran great. Next day, wouldn't start again. Bought new MAF and truck started and ran great again. Two days later, wouldn't start again. Pulled the new MAF out and sprayed it down real good, truck started again and ran great. Could something in the engine be blowing oil through the hose running from the oil filler tube to the air intake hose and fouling out the MAF? Has anyone ever heard of that? Any help would be appreciated.

take the vent tube off, clean the maf and run it without that vent. see what happens. Plug up the hold in the intake tube tho, as it will get more air than it thinks it has.

I took the vent tube off, but it didn't help. It actually was worse. It would start, but then immediately die. Put the vent tube back on, it started up and ran. Took a quick trip around the block, it ran great. Later on, wouldn't start again.

wiggle the wiring harness at the sensor while the truck is running, try to eliminate faulty electrical connections at the sensor.

check engine light on?

Good idea, thanks, I'll try that, and no, no check engine light, and the light does work.

Nope, no difference, I have no clue, but, I appreciate your trying. :bawling:

I have seen this a few times disconnect the the electrical plug on the dpfe sensor located on the drivers side of the intake manifold it has 2 hoses going to the egr tube
if it starts replace it good luck
