93 Splash in SC, V8-Swap version

If you can keep a supercharged 2.9l running, you can do this.

I couldn't.

I was goung to keep the Ranger running until I got the transmission finished. But, since I'm waiting on parts and the weather is so good (? 91 w/ 45% humidity?), let's get the ball rolling on disassembly of the Ranger. I crawled under and measured a few things I might want to know. Not sure how much I'll do today, since it's hot and my blood pressure is runnung low.

This looks like a good position. Good access all around, close to level, can still get motorcycle in and out of the garage. And anything round that I drop will roll to the center under the truck. After the t-case and transmission are out, I'll put 2 of the Explorer wheels on the front so it's lower to work on.

limiting straps so I don't fight the truck rising when I try to lift the engine out.

That thing has come a really, really long way.

I got more productive than anticipated. Started the engine and pulled the fuel pump relay. So, there shouldn't be much fuel in the lines. Pulled the battery. Intake tube from filter to throttle body is off, heater hoses are off, upper rad hose is off, coolant drained. Driver side dash is apart, instrument cluster out, steering column is out, shifter is out. I also sprayed penetrent on the exhaust y-pipe bolts. They look pretty rough, though. I'll try to save the y-pipe for the next owner. But, not sure I'll be successful on that part.
