Alright folks, I'm in the process of acquiring a 92 Ford Ranger from a buddy in the next few weeks. As I am an audio/bass junkie, I'm already planning out the overhaul. Currently the vehicle is completely gutted from head to toe. (Engine/Trans/Interior is all out) So it's a blank canvas, but a slightly challenging one. In a different life I had a 97 Ranger and the dash/din was a lot more... workable?

I'm going to be going back to take another look at it next weekend so I can "plot" my upgrades.

From google searching the interior, it does appear that space is very limited and a double din doesn't appear... viable? I tried looking into single DIN "floating" Units with 7-10"displays, however none are from brands I recognize and I do not want to sacrifice audio quality on a crappy unit. Has anyone done something like this and have any recommendations?

I plan on upgrading the alternator and battery to support a higher load. I also have a couple of different sub options from previous builds (Pair of 12" Kicker Comp R's and a Pair of 15" Solo Baric L7s) The current speakers in the truck are toast, so those are going to be gutted and replaced with component speakers. I just want to make sure that what I'm envisioning can be done before I get too ahead of myself? I'm not familiar with this old of a truck or it's potential limitations.

At the end of the day, I know that I could "make it work" but it wouldn't look pretty, and I would much prefer a clean/professional looking interior with everything firmly secure lol!

I appreciate any feedback/help/suggestions y'all may have. I'm so excited to own a Ranger again and like a soon to be new parent, I'm in full planning mode!

Power Acoustik CP-71W

That's what I went with in my 1st gen. I'm gonna say if you ignore built-in amp and just used the pre-outs it'd sound great. IDK how that face would sit in the newer dash, but maybe worth consideration.
