88 Turbo Ranger resto

First full tank of fuel through it netted 23mpg and that wasnt driving it nicely!

OK, now drive it nicely and let us know what it nets...

So I have been driving the wheels off the truck since getting it done and working on the little bugs that pop up. Two things I needed to do was find the reason for a weird miss i was having while cruising and I needed to finish my gauges.
I have a SpeedHut tach and Autometer Ultralite boost,oil,water,a/f gauges alreay but I still needed to order my Speedhut GPS speedo and a fuel gauge. I have been driving around with just the boost gauge in the dash. Friday night at work I decided to place an order for the fuel gauge and make plans to start installing them this weekend.

Well I got off at 5am and jumped on the expressway for my 50 mile drive home and my miss started getting worse.A peek at my LM1 showed I was only getting 11.1v and it hit me that maybe my alt. was taking a crap and thats why it had developed a miss. I decided to press on and see if I could make it home....Halfway my LM1 goes into "error low voltage" mode....about 15 miles from home and the lights are getting really dim and the miss is keeping my to 45mph....100 yards from my driveway the truck shuts off and I coast into my parking spot. Safe!

I open the hood to put my charger on and what I find shocks me. My alt. is laying on the framerail from the upper long bolt breaking off in the bracket. Then it hits me....I dont have any belts on the motor. No water pump spinning for who knows how many miles! Truck never boiled over and coolant was all full still.

Soo the very night I order parts and make plans to finish my gauges I actually had a situation where I should of had them already. Im so mad at myself for doing something so stupid. Find out Monday if the motor has any damage...

Ouch. Hopefully it didn't damage anything.

Just read your entire build thread, love your truck and love the motor setup too! Hope the motor is OK! Any idea how much power your putting down?

Actually other than cracking my header the motor is fine and I have been driving it the last two weeks problem free. Im amazed!
I dont know what kind of power it makes yet but Im planning to get to Milan Dragway in the next couple weeks to find out what it runs.

I picked up a set of Draglites for my drag radials, new 65lb injectors so I can turn the boost up finally and then I just need to make some adjustments in my PIMP and hopefull go lay down some low 12 second passes...

Awesome Job on the truck.. I love it!! I like how you took the time to make everything clean.

THank you..I spent alot of hours workin on this thing the past year and so far Im very proud of how its turning out.

Well took some time off from workin on the truggy and got some things done on this one. After the problem I had a few weeks back I have found no ill effects to my motor.

I got my dash bezel installed finally and except my speedo all gauges are in.

Just have a filler panel in where the speedo will go for now.

I also picked up a Crown Vic cop car aluminum driveshaft that after swapping the front yoke fits perfect. Truck goes down the road smoooth as silk now!
Had to pull the trans and replace the throwout bearing and pulled the turbo off to seal a header leak.

I now have some 65lb injectors in and we did a small amount of retuning on the ecm but Im having a weird boost issue. I cant make a clean hard pull under WOT without the turbo going into surge really bad and dumping all boost. Not sure if its my BOV not working right or being under sized..or if its a problem with my turbo itself.

i just realized your running a PiMP and was wondering how it is? do you like it?

I love the Pimp. Its carzy at the amount of stuff you can do with it.

Warmed up the garage and finally got around to laying down the pinstripes. Truck looked good but very plain to me. So I picked up some silver tape to outline the black on the hood and tailgate. Then I did a small black/silver stripe down the side. Very simple and easy but dam do I love it.
