- My credo
- In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
While discussing entries for the 2026 calendar, an idea was introduced to include our dogs (and cats). So, for the 2027 calendar, let's do a Pets Of TRS edition. I will confess that I would prefer to just say "Dogs of TRS". But, I will allow other pet species.
The normal rules and guidelines apply as outlined in the link below. However, the following rules also apply.
1. It must be YOUR family pet. Not someone else's.
2. The pet must be posed with your Ranger/Bronco II or Explorer. This is The Ranger Station, after all. The truck must still be a prominent part of the photo subject.
3. Wives don't count. You may think she is your pet. And I think that is sweet. But that is not what this is about. She can be in the photo if she agrees. But this is about RBV's and the animal pets who own or ride in them. Same rule applies to children.
4. Don't just photoshop some amusing animal into the shot. Use some creativity. Spend a little bit of time and energy and go out and take some photos with your pet posed with your RBV.
I will use the first 13 photos I receive that are of good quality, big enough image files (see guidelines in the link) and follow these rules. That's 12 months with #13 as honorable mention on the back cover where I put the copyright info and QR link to this site. The photo I deem as best submission will adorn the front cover in addition to whatever month I put it in.
Send full resolution photos to my email listed in the guidelines link. Posting them here in the forum will get you nowhere because the forum software reduces file sizes. In the email, plrase include your username, some basuc iinfo about the truck in the photo, the pet's name and maybe some basic info about the pet. I usually type up a little captiin for each photo. So, it would be something aling the lines of "Livvy, a 12 year old beagle mix, with her 1993 Ranger Splash. Submitted by Curious Hound".
Good luck.

This would NOT be a great photo for the calendar. Mediocre, at best since she isn't really posed with the truck. Get those pets involved with the vehicle.
