2.9 Swap to 2.9 Merkur/Scorpion

Hello all. Does anybody know if a 2.9 from a Merkur/Scorpion will fit my 88 Ranger. I noticed that the exhaust manifold and the intake aluminum top is different from my Ranger. Thanks.

Yes, this is the same engine. The exhaust manifolds are different? I've never seen one in person, but I'm actually looking into buying the turbo kit from one to see if it fits my ranger. If the exhaust manifold bolts are different, then I won't buy this turbo kit...

They have a whopping 4 more hosepower. What's the benefit?

I got it for free. I was told it has hot camshafts compare to normal 2.9. Yeah it is all the same except for the exhaust manifold and the top part of the intake. But I have the Y. What I am worried about is the ECU if it is match with my old ECU.
