I have a 1999 Ford Ranger XLT 4 Door Extended Cab 4wd and I'm looking to buy new speakers for it. an audio shop near me told me the speaker size is 6x9" but other sites have said 6x8" please let me know ASAP

just replaced my fronts on a 2000 ext cab... with 5x7, anything larger won't fit without carving on the door.

Carving the door? My 6x8's went in no problem.

Factory size is about 5x7 but 6x8 SHOULD fit. The Pioneer 6x8's I bought in did say "for Ford/Mazda"

Ok then , I stand corrected.

I've got 4 Pioneer 6x8's in mine, they fit and sound great. 6x9's won't fit without cutting, however.
