Another shot looking down at the top of the gear box.

Front of truck looking at passenger side...showing the sway bar.

I don't mind anyone using anything that I did to my Ranger as a guidline and I will try and answer any questions you have. Please take your time doing something like this and don't blame me if you run into a tree. :) Chow!

Cool beans brotherman... Appreciate the pics!

Is that a custom track bar or is that the factory Jeep on from the D30?

My only problem is alot of your welds look like super poor quality.

How did you mount the track bar?
Looks to me like you took the stock Jeep track bar w/ the tapered end on it. And just bolted it into a hole in a piece of plate.:shok:

This is bad, this is really bad...:fie:

Not only that but it looks like your welder wasn't turned up hot enough. Those welds don't look like they penetrated very much at all.

I really don't mean to bust on you, after all I like the truck, and respect the work you've done. But there is the safety issue.

Everything on the front axle was stock from the Jeep

Actually all the concerns were all mine as well. I will eventually go over the welds again...actually have a friend that will MIG it for me....I just wanted to make sure before I did ANYTHING that this was going to work. It has been about 10 months or so that this has been on the road and it is doing fine....now I have gone in the woods and with all the tain we've had it's been pretty rough on it, however I do check all the welds and if I even see the slightest problem I will fix it. As a matter of fact I have a couple things I want to change out this Spring and do a little better job on....the principle of this build works fine for what I do with it. So, I don't feel that I'm being "busted on". I can take criticism and appreciate it...and if something does go terribly wrong....I will post my experience.

Okay thanks, I'm going to the JY in a few weeks and my D30 didnt come with a track bar and I just wanted to know for sure thanks alot.

Things hold up good through the winter?

Also bumping up for those that want to see a SAS under a Ranger that has IFS (98+)

bump :D man im soo wanting to do a D30 SAS on my truck, mostly because it fits my needs, and well going from 2wd to a d30 sas is a huge improvement imo.
