1993 Splash in SC

You say your gonna use the KC's as headlights? Are you getting rid of the stock ones?
Yes. Those KCs are headlights. Standard 7" diameter. Marketed as Jeep replacements.

My stock headlights were replaced years ago with cheap ebay units. Never really been happy with them. Never really liked all these molded plastic headlight/turn signal things anyway. Currently, the whole fiberglass structure around the passenger side is broken. Could I repair fiberglass? Yes. But I hate that stuff.in the future, if I break one, I just order another standard 7" round headlight. None of this "does it fit my ancient truck?" bull.

Nope, nope, nope. I refuse to do this fiberglass repair.

Time to bust out the welder and make yourself a grill Mad Max would be proud of.

Coming soon. I really need a plasma cutter or torch set for cutting. On the other hand, I did order the finger press brake from Swag Offroad. That's going to improve things around here as long as I don't get my fingers in it.

I could have done one of those meme about how I got scammed ordering stuff for my sweetheart and car parts arrived instead. But who would I be fooling? I'll be honest. I ordered truck parts for me.

I'm looking forward to what you got going on with front lighting. Do your star turn signals have a running light? What are your plans for the side marker? I'm pretty sure those will be required.

Or...

I wonder how much it would cost to do a SAS. A Dana 44 from a brand new Jeep would be pretty nice. Electric locker. I wonder what gear ratio they come with.

392 has 3.73's
A couple years ago they introduced optional 4.88's for manual V6's
The rest have 4.10's.

So basically on the used axle market they only have 4.10's :icon_twisted:
If you want brand, brand new... I know a guy...

If you need me to run a VIN to know for sure let me know.

Only 4XE, Rubicons and trailer tow package Jeeps get the '44 in the front. :icon_thumby:

Ooh. 4.88 would be good for me. New axles are out of the budget currently. Would have to be a gift from a generous person.

The star turn signals have 3 wires. So they'll work as running lights and turns. I did order some side marker lights. They havevac2-wire connector. I think I got all my wiring pigtails/adapters ordered yesterday.

The turn signals and marker lights are designed for Wranglers (97-08?). They are plastic with tabs that snap into special holes. I'm going to have to get creative to mount them. But it won't be too difficult. I'm going to make round clamping rings for the turn signals.

Might have pictures of partially finished center grill this afternoon. There is a partial interruption while I weld together the finger press brake that arrived yesterday from Swag Offroad. My FedEx guy got a workout with those boxes.

Let us know how you like that finger press brake. What gauge/ type of metal do you plan on using it with?

I have a table top finger brake for doing sheet metal, but it's no very reliable over 18ga. Can do 16ga with steel, but just barely. Stainless is a no go.

This thing is a beast. I don't think it will be great for real thin stuff unless you don't mind a bit of extra radius in the bend. There is another jig they sell that helps it do tighter bends on thin material. I can build that myself. I will mostly be using it for 16gauge and bigger. My bumper project will be 3/16" and 1/4". The specs on this are incredible. Assembly is pretty easy.

I really likebthe headlight brackets I found. These have spring-loaded adjustments for aiming. The back side is a flange with mounting holes that will be easy to bolt to whatever support structure I dream up. Marketed for use on Harley Davidsons. The KC lights fit perfectly.

I did hear they were pretty worthless on light gauge stuff, especially with short length brackets.

There is a guy on a welding and fabrication forum that I saw design a set of plates you could stack up on top of the brake to allow for tighter radius bends on smaller pieces.
