Maybe we are talking about different things, but low brake fluid level does not permit the driver to start the car. The steering lock will also have problems.

So. Is it time for new power steering pump?Should I do the Saginaw upgrade? Is the upgrade worth the effort?

This is a 93. It’s closer to Fred Flintstone technology than George Jetson technology.Maybe we are talking about different things, but low brake fluid level does not permit the driver to start the car. The steering lock will also have problems.

No. It was public knowledge in the internet. Somebody figured it out from the cartoons based on how old he was in a certain year and his birthday and stuff like that. Cartoon nerd knowledge. How do you have this information? Are you working on the Skynet system with CyberDyne ?
You probably have stick shift too. This is a 93. It’s closer to Fred Flintstone technology than George Jetson technology.
and before anyone mentions it on my behalf; I’m a 64 model. So I’m also closer to Fred Flintstone technology.
I once had a truck with a carburetor. Remember those?
I remember taking it a repair shop. Nobody there knew how to drive stick.Used to?
It's OK, not everybody is perfect...
Not yet. But it frees up and works fine all day. Then, next day I want to drive it, stuck again. Just like my knees.Have you tried jacking up the front and checking the steering for binding?
Not sure it should do that power steering or no.
This is old style box. When these wear, traditionally, they just get sloppier than normal.I'm assuming your truck has a steering box instead of a rack and pinion system. If that is the case, then I agree it might be the pump. If it isn't, some racks have been known to wear in the housing causing a lip for the system to catch on. I don't think Ford Rangers are one of them but I know it was a thing on GM products.
