Got some parts over the past couple days to get a few more things done -

  • New intake gaskets finally got here, so I can get that bolted down. Going to have some interference issues with the hood I think, but we'll see
  • Adjustable transmission mount to try and use the previous crossmember because of how it's packaged with the frame mounts for the front suspension, hopefully work with some minor tweaks
  • Drive by wire pedal showed up, get that bolted in and all set too

Going to take the atlas to a friends shop to get a new input and a VSS sensor. Advanced adapters never replied about whether it's preferable to have it on the transmission tailshaft or the output on the transfer case, but it seems more logical to me to have it on the transfer case side.

Couple steps forward this weekend.

I screwed around with the trans mount for a few hours on sat. My driveline doesnt have a mount at the trans, the crossmember was originally at the transfer case. There are a couple bolt holes I was trying to use, but it just didnt work, and I would have ended up covering up at least one transfer case mounting hole to do it. On the YJ, the frame rails are angled in where the trans crossmember would be, it's all a huge pain and nothing lines up well. In theory, it could be done with a custom cradle for the extension on the transmission, but I think I'll be further ahead going with a tailshaft mount for the atlas, and then a crossmember there, where the frame rails are parallel too. a little worried about not having a crossmember under the trans, but think it'll be ok?

Sun I cleaned the injectors, mounted the intake to the engine, so it's closed up now. Mounted the computer in the stock location, and started wiring everything up from the back of the engine to the front. Found out Holley forgot my injector harness, so I have to call them today to try and get that sorted out. Drive by wire harness doesn't fit my throttle body either, so that'll be fun. Outside of those issues the Holley harness is well marked and easy to figure out
