1 Ton YJ Crawler build

I don't know much about Jeeps but I do know fuel systems... Does the rail have a return out of one end and supply on the other with a regulator on the rail? That's the BEST setup for vapor lock assuming the fuel pump is in the tank, if it's not it needs to be as close to the tank as possible and as low as possible. If external pump and only a single pump system it's best to get a low pressure pump to put first in line (the marine Carter/Sierra is a good one, or as good as you'll get). You want to get liquid fuel through the fuel rail and flushed out so it can cool off. The heat shield and louvers should help your situation though.

Yeah, the 4.0 was basically designed for vapor lock. Fuel pump is in my fuel cell, but the fuel rail sits directly next to the valve cover and above the exhaust manifold. Combine that with what I think was a sticky thermostat so that it was running a little hot and the temps were wild. Water was cooking off the fuel rail

Love having a hoist. New rear main seal became a 5 minute job

Have my fancy oil baffle coming this week, and got the Holley oil pan fitted in. I will have to drill out one hole to mount it - it always cracks me up how "every of X motor is the same" rarely pans out in practice. There's a bolt hole that wasn't used in my block with the stock pan I guess

My steering box is probably done. The cap has a hairline crack from hitting a rock with it. There's a snap ring that holds it on, hoping I can find the part number for that and the cap and just replace those. I don't really want to spend the money on going full hydro, but also don't want to put any money into hydro assist. Not sure what I'm going to do yet

Started debating selling my 4 speed atlas to go to a 2 speed. I don't use the underdrive, it's just too low.

Have headers on the way. Going to start ordering sensors and the water pump, though I'm not sure about accessories yet. Likely to use one of the goatbilt brackets, but I need to decide about my steering stuff before I go wild there

From one of the black trails early at AOAA. Broke the jeep on SOB when I started screwing around because the guy in front of me was stuck
