'08 door hinge

Need to get the door off to fix hinges. Anyone know how to disconnect the wiring harness from the door to cab ?

I don't think that there is a disconnect. Unhook the harness from everything in the door, pop the grommet out of the door, then feed the harness back through that hole while removing it.

I'm assuming that the hinge pins are worn out? If that's the case you may want to investigate replacing the pins with the door still attached to the cab. I wasn't there when he did it, but dad swapped the hinges on one of his Ranger doors with one from a parts truck and I'm pretty certain that he did not completely remove the door from the cab. Maybe one hinge at a time working in the door jamb space.

That's what I suspected after looking around, nothing can ever be simple.

don't oil the rubber/spongy thingie. it provides the tension to keep the door open, oil softens it and then it won't hold the door open.
