What is the best way to do this on a '94? Planning to do the top one first. I will be doing this by myself. What is the best way to support the door? I saw one video where the guy supported the door via a strap to the ceiling.
I was thinking about using a 2x4 piece of lumber across the top of the roof of the truck counterweighted by a concrete block.
Any ideas? Thanks.

The best way is to have someone hold it so it doesn't slip off whatever you put under it.

I have to do most all of my wrenching solo. I used a small come-along hung from a garage rafter when I replaced my door pins. I've also seen where others have done the same using a tree limb.

Suspending the door takes a lot of the "floppy" risk away, as opposed to using just a jack from below the door. I also did my pins one at a time, which helped keep the door from getting too floppy. Wrap cardboard around the upper window frame, and try to place the hoist or strap where the door is balanced well.

I just take them off ....

Much easier to get it done.

Thanks. The plus side of using a 2x4 across the roof is that you can sit inside the truck and the door moves with the truck, taking away the floppy risk. The downside is you might dent the roof.
Maybe build an A-frame around the door?
