These pics are more or less redundant, but I put it in the dash and put the bezel on.

ABS light is on. Might be the parking brake sensor, orientation of the led, or fluid loss. Parking brake light has always sporadically functioned in the past. Never really cared.

This has nothing to do with the build...I’ve been sad lately because we had to put our dog to sleep. He was 13 and was in poor health. I keep finding myself thinking absentmindedly to give him food, or that I hear him going down the hall.

This sucks.

So it turns out that the ingress points for the water getting in the cab were two of the round plugs in the floor. I sealed everything up and air dried the carpet. While I had everything ripped apart, I cleaned up the wiring for the subwoofer and put finishing touches on the gauge panel. While I was at it, I treated the HVAC panel to the same treatment as the gauges (blue knobs on the way).

I ended up destroying the stock shift knob trying to get it off the shifter. I had read this write up by NATETONE on TRS https://www.therangerstation.com/forums/showthread.php?t=64513 about making a threaded shifter out of the spined one. Figured I could do that..so I did!

It ended up raising the knob around 3” which was cool. Felt like what I imagine an 18 wheeler’s shifter would feel like. The extra length makes it easier to shift for me. For those who are interested I bought the universal knob from Autozone: PILOT PM-2274. Upgraded knob will come at tax time.

Break it right the first time. Fix it better the next time.
Everything looks great. I love the gauges.

Nice work on the cluster. what type of blue and red "medium" did you use.
Those mercury needles worked out nice. Definitely would be surprised to see that exact set up in a different truck. one off for sure.

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
Nice job on the gauges, etc. Sorry to hear about your dog. I've been through that a few times over the years. It never gets easier.

I ended up buying one $0.25 opaque red plastic 2 pocket folder and one $0.25 opaque blue plastic folder from Walmart. I think if I had to redo it, I would use warm white led bulbs and only use one layer of the plastic folders. Two layers creates too many height differences under the gauge faces.

Ok...thinking about selling the Ranger and getting a Wrangler Unlimited. I really want to go off road without having to think about my truck getting stuck.

True. I think I’m just frustrated with the truck. I’ve got to replace (or have replaced) all of the clutch/flywheel components, as well as get it painted. Part of me just doesn’t want to deal with it.

It's up to you what you want to do, but I would ask yourself if you would regret selling it at some point down the line. I know some people like me can be very sentimental when it comes to vehicles.

Would you have somewhere to store it for awhile, and maybe go back to it in the future?

Also, how much do you think it would sell for in the condition it is in? I know i've kept vehicles before because they would only be worth a few hundred.

It would be roughly $300. Not worth it as a trade in.
As far as being sentimental, I most definitely am.
