I just got my first job offer after being laid off for two years!
I got a phone call this morning. Two years to the day I was laid off.

Looks like it's time to dust off the ol' cap and get to burnin' metal!

Don't know if I have the job for sure just yet... My old foreman called me and asked if I still had all of my stuff in order and to go put my app in and he would handle it from there.

2 years? I'd be nuts after the first two months. But, who is to say I'm not nuts already? I was about a year after I got out of the Army before I started working again, but it took me a while before I could actually walk unassisted. I'm still a damn cripple, though. I hide it well, I only limp after I've had to scramble around when something serious goes down on the line - my manager saw it for the first time last week and freaked out until I explained about my pending VA disability claim and all that - apparently the higher-ups didn't feel the need to tell him about my history!

Good luck, you seem like a decent guy and have a former boss pulling for you, so I bet you've got it in the bag, man.

I was outta work for a year....knew people who owned companies....still couldn't get a job...they all said economy was too slow....(they was still taking those Haaa-whyy-eeeee vacations though).

anyhow....I hope it comes thru for you & you make back what you've been missing!
