Sorry this is a little long. I swapped in a m50d in to my explorer in place of an dead a4ld. Took it crawling this weekend and everytime i would get the transmission in to a bind on a hard place in the trail and take it out of 1st gear to go to rev, it would not go back in to 1st or 2nd would shift in to 3rd, 4th, 5th and rev. it just felt solid like there was no gears there at all. I took the shifter out of the tranny and got it to go in to 1st with a normal size screw driver. I worked fine till i got to the next hard spot in the trail it did it again and again was able to fix it with the screw drive with the shifter out of the transmission. So what says the TRS? never had a transmission do this. (it seems to shift and drive ok on the highway and on light wheeling)

body lift? is the shifter hitting the hole in the floor plate? that's what I would expect, body all twisty compared to suspension would cause the shifter to be off center a bit
