I was playing around with my TTB axle today (sway bar removed) and it looks like the limiting factor is the shock. Is this true? Seems like a bad idea offroad.

The shock, length of spring, length of beam, but mostly the radius arm is the biggest flex withholder. Why alot of guys run extended arms.

OK, i'll take another look at it and see what is stopping the droop. It could well be the radius arm binding. I have enough travel with the sway bar disconnected for how I wheel, I just dont want the limiting factor to be the shock. I am kinda thing a limit strap would be useful here to save on part strain.

Also keep an eye on driveshafts.

I was in the JY over the weekend and noticed at full drop a truck there had the front driveshaft sitting on the RA crossmember. If you get too wild the PS front axleshaft can bind in the window where it passes thru the beam (which would need clearanced)

The ground usually has a pretty big role in limiting downward travel.

I haven't seen that mentioned yet.

My credo
Crossed threads are tight threads.
Mexican food gives me downward travel.
