Gen 5, solid DD truck, that's new enough to not breakdown every week, but not so new it wont go into gear with out you putting your seatbelt on first.
But nothing looks like a first Gen.

I love my Gen 3, but the newer Rangers are really badass IMO. I def wouldnt mind a new 4x4 sittin in my driveway Christmas morning.

I love my flying brick. Gen 1's just look so cool. There's not very many of them left around here in the rust belt. Finding one is like digging up an ancient treasure.

well i like the gen 3, but thats also cause its my first ranger :D but i sure do like the gen 2 body style A LOT... if only i could have found one with a 4.0L i would've been all over it!

I like them all but the newest ones are my favorite (as far as looks go), especially the FX4.

I like Gen 1 and Gen 6. I like the looks of both, gen 2 was too boxy, the older ones have just a bit of chamfer on the front corners and it make all the difference. the gen 6 had a very aggressive look on the v-6 models, but my baby is my 87, and so gen 1 will always be my favorite.

I've had a gen 2 and a gen 3 Ranger and by far my favorite is the gen 5 I have now. Just my personal preference. Although I do catch a lot of crap from Gen 1 and gen 2 and gen 3 Ranger owners around St.Louis time to time because I have a Gen 5. I'm happy with my Gen 5 though.
