What did you do to your Ranger today? (Part Deux!)

Not technically done TO either of them yet but I ordered $580 worth of parts for both. More for the 2011 than the 2019 but the 2019 is due for some new rear rotors and pads and I also ordered a quart bottle of that "special sauce" brake fluid it requires. The 2011 is going to be getting new front rotors and pads, new set of O2 sensors, and rear parking brake cables.

Trimmed 8 apple trees (dwarf's so not huge) that I haven't trimmed in about 5 years so it was a pretty heavy trim... used the '97 Ranger to transfer the branches to the burn pile, took like 5 trips... now that I can mow around the trees again I'm going to go get a drink, a cigar and drive in circles for a few hours... getting some water and sitting for a few first though

After fixing that stupid plastic T (5/8-3/8-5/8) in the cooling system that broke, stood there with my arms folded wondering wtf that “Engineer” who designed it was thinking, while checking for leaks.
No leaks….Changed plugs and wires, then wondered what was next lol. Decided I needed more power! Found a 2.3 Turbo Engine out of a 88 t-bird…wish me luck!

This load was stupid heavy. First load i hauled in 10 years of ownership of this truck i thought i mighta overdid it. But she got er did. The 460 didnt groan nearly as much as everything else

Disclaimer....i went 4 miles on no traveled dirt roads.

That looks like 8-9k pounds to me with the ~2-3 cord of wood (assuming not oak) and trailer, it's up there

I had enough energy after mowing to get the center U joint installed and the female slip splines cleaned out, I think I'm going to call it for the night...

the trailers 2500lbs...plus whatever i had in the bed.

Ive had 13-13500 behind it before and it didnt feel this bad lol. Of course that was a mini excavator on a gooseneck with properly functioning trailer brakes.

Either way i had my fun and next time i dont think ill load it quite so heavy lol

Oh, wise ones. I need a little high beam help on the missing Linc. Here are the facts:

87 standard cab xlt 4WD 2.9 stick

Low beams work, but no high Beams

When I checked all my fuses, the second down from top on the right was blown. That’s the headlights on warning buzzer/chime. When I replaced that fuse, the lights on chime worked, but only low beams, no highbeams. The chime worked with both low and high.

The blue high beam indicator on the top of the speedometer is also out.

BTW, the top right fuse also says headlights on warning buzzer. It was OK, but I don’t think it has anything to do with my headlights.

There’s no power distribution box in that 87.

I checked every other fuse visually.

I was wondering if anybody had any wisdom of what I should check before I started pulling out headlights and the light switch

All concepts and comments are greatly appreciate it

BTW, remember that I pulled out the original headlights, and I have a four headlight system from a town car.

Based on the fact that all the chimes work, and that the light on the dash doesn’t illuminate, I suspect the multifunction switch (turn signal stalk). They are known for having issues, especially with the high beams.

I hear it click when I pull it back and forth. Are you saying that the contacts are in that stalk lever switch itself? It doesn’t feed a relay that flips somewhere under the dash or under the hood?

This is from my 86 EVTM... basically the same I believe...

No relays... dimmer switch to headlamps.
