One of the few minor changes we're making to the Ranger for the 2024 season. We needed a small drop(1½") in the rear and also a little tweak to the pinion angle. These new drop shackles will do both. Now we just have to get those !@#$%^& rear spring eye bushings out.

I'm going to have to reset the CalTracs anyway so we'll have to see what it does with the previous baseline setting. Thought I wrote it down somewhere(I think?)

i know you know....i was just throwing it out there for the ones that dont know.....ya know?

i love your rig.....

i have been thinking of going to sliders on my front axle for ten years..and have seen where the caltracs just plain work out back....really slick......and that is why i am NOT surprised you have not moved that monster to links....

though links could really help.

Not today but a couple days back I got too close to a retaining wall and dented the right bed side a little and cracked the tail light on the 2011. I can get a tail light cheap enough and I think I can push out the bed side with the body hammers and bucking bars I have. I've managed to go about 13 years without any real, self inflicted vehicle damage. So I can't complain much. I'll order up a tail light and worry about the panel dent when the weather gets warmer. I might try that upside down air duster dent repair trick first before I start banging on it and see how that goes.

My green Ranger ate a newer F-150 today. Guy was trying to be a jerk running under the speed limit and when I had some open 4-lane road, I was gone. He tried, but that only lasted long enough to hit some bends. I’m built for that now. Gone.

Damn starter wire was loose....on the bronco....lil bob was stalled out at the light and a neighbor cranked it for him while he was doing the starter tap with a torque wrench....seen Sparks and pushed the wire over till it started.

Must of been a lock washer that rotted off I am guessing....as it tightened up. Apparently I did not execute the order for the rear diff....been trying to get tracking info on it.....bah....pisser.

I still have to address some issues which will improve performance, but that was still encouraging to know that it’s got issues and it still eats another truck. I’m pretty happy with it, it was a ridiculous amount of work, but worth it

I'm changing out the power steering fluid the way. Pulling it out with a turkey baster, filling the reservoir with new fluid, drive around a bit and repeat. It normally takes three quarts to fill all the way. I'll hazard that I use maybe four or five to everything cleaned out.

another method is to divert the reservoir return to a bucket, plug the hole.
then pour new fluid into the reservoir while turning the wheels lock to lock.,

put the wheels on something slippery, and be prepared to pour lots of fluid fast. use a big bucket.
that will completely flush the system while under load.

None at all.
I'm about to replace the Strangler with something Chevy. I'm not a Ford fanatic, but some how I end up with them. Oh, because they're cheap and break down a lot.

If you are replacing it with the same price level GM... It will be cheap and break down a lot.

People tend to hang on to things that don't break down a lot .... Make sure it is not 3.6 powered.
