My credo
the grey-t escape
Went after a load of softner salt this morning (8 40 pound bags) then pulled all 3 trailers to the old place, loaded them up and brought back the flatbed & the box trailer. left a set of keys on the back bumper during one trip between the two houses, may have to walk the road tomorrow in hopes of finding them. Only 4 miles but no guarantee I will find them.

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.

Lord God is my guardian
Clean and detail my ole friend.. everything. At the car wash for three hours, with pain in both shoulders, took it slow. Needed to spend some time to get certain things off my mind. Remembering the times this truck and I have been through since I drove it off ford's lot in 94.

Plumbed and installed a new air filter, then spent a few hours doing a write up on the most recent big thing I've done to it

Painted the grill white to match the body. I think it looks better. Thoughts?

Some years, a matching grill looks good and others, not so much. I think yours looks good. I don't think my 2011 or 2019 would look good with a matching grill.

I was thoroughly disappointed to learn that the ranger got a facelift from the 1992 year. My explorer of the same year had the big boxy grill and I really liked that look. The face on the truck is too… car-like? Modern? Mazda-influenced?

Finished this after work today.

the plastic plate inside the arm rest was cracked, I assume from being leaned on when getting into the truck.

so I made one out of 1/8” stainless.

I originally welded it together backwards, so it took me a couple tries.

Trouble shoot over charging issue and fuel gauge not working. No joy. Cussed and swore at her. Threatened to part her out. Ordered new voltage regulator and parked her in the side yard so she can think about the things she’s done. 😡 bad bad Abby

I do like the square body lines better myself. The 2011 isn’t too bad with the way they handled the grill work and body panels. Depending on the angle, the 2019 doesn’t look bad either but head on, it definitely has a car like appearance to it.

My credo
Grew up in the 70s, 80s, and 90s
the new ones look just like the escape. that is what kept my wife from getting one when they first came out. she wanted to trade her 2018 ruby red scape in for a four door truck and they had a brand new rudy red ranger on the lot, first one we had ever seen. we got in it and the wife said no way. why would i want another escape?

from the front seat belt forward, it is a ford escape. (minus of course, the rwd versus fwd)
