Oh, and don't forget to call Canadian guys a hoser. They like that.
Just like in French restaurants the waiters like to be called Garcon.

Guns are a big deal
Most Canadians think anyone from the US has maybe 1 gun you can see but 2 that are hidden, lol
So don't bring a gun, and clean out all the bullets in the vehicle, if they find one they WILL disassemble the vehicle looking for the gun :)
Will they do a deep clean and detail while in there? If so, it might be worth dropping a bullet in the passenger floor board and making the drive up, don't mind doing the reassembly part myself.

I'd be more worried about the geese, personally. If you think Moose are mean, Geese are even worse. We don't have watch dogs here. We have watch Geese. And they find Americans VERY tasty!
LOL my sister certainly used to think so. We get a lot of them bastards down here in GA. They'd never bother me, but my sister used to be terrified of them. Damn cocky, arrogant, overgrown chicken. Take over an area and won't clear up when they leave, they leave shit everywhere (literally). If it wouldn't be so offensive to our neighbors up there, I'd be tempted to start using them for target practice. Ok, not really, but it wouldn't hurt my feelings if they disappeared and didn't return.

I don't recall them using a vacuum or soap but you can always suggest it :)

Canada geese, as (in theory) migratory birds, are protected under US law. Go figure.

As a hunter, I know. I don't hunt birds anyway, but if I did it would be turkey, not goose. Still think there should probably be a short season with small bag limit on those geese though.

Why should I pay someone else to screw it up when I can screw it up myself for free?
You can take up to 2/day in California but only after certain dates. I've never been big on eating ducks or geese; I have an aversion to animals that eat their own poop. Hogs might do it inadvertently but ducks and geese make a habit of it.

From what i remember they eat it cause it has lots of nutrition still in it. Their digestive systems are trained to run fast as they are trying to keep light to fly. So the food goes in and out fast and they cant digest every-bit.

If you come up here, you are permitted up to 8 Cdn geese/day (24 possession) - well at least we locals are between Sept and Dec.
I never had much success hunting them; I think they know I'd like to try goose, because while they bother many, they stay well away from me.
I've enjoyed many a duck.
Gun legislation up here made it so I haven't hunted since I left home.

Lead follow or get out of my way
I never took up waterfowl hunting... it's an entirely new level of equipment.

I have spent an awful lot of energy chasing them out of my garden...

Never thought about it. I figured they were gone south for winter. I moved here, I have noticed certain areas on the east side of Calgary they overwinter.

We would prefer that you toilet train them, rather than using them for target practice.

I'm only putting that much effort into something I want to stick around for a little while. Ya know, like dogs or kids. Yeah, I don't have those either.

I don't think I'd be much good at it anyway. I have been trying to teach the trucks for years, but they still have accidents in the driveway. The only thing that seems to have gotten it is the one that I don't care if stays, the Forte seems to be a natural. It's kind of like a cat that way, but at least it doesn't get into fights under the house at 1 am.

My credo
Crossed threads are tight threads.
Regina is a long drive from our destination... is there a reason to experience it other than the obvious giggles from words ending in -gina?

What's up with the alcohol costs? I have heard others complain about that. $70 for a case of PBR would be just cause for a riot here.
It pays for the almost free medical coverage. Surgery is $5 bucks.

Made it back, no surgeries required.

I found it interesting that about 50% of the people I ran into in Banff do not speak English at all - lots of people from India & Asian countries. Everyone was really nice. Lake Louise was pretty cool but way too many people. Emerald Lake was every bit as impressive and no crowd.

Tried poutine - found out that we have it here too at certain restaurants except it has breaded & fried cheese curds. Yum.

Spent $162 total on gas round trip. Go Prius! Wife's credit card only charged 1% transaction fee - super nice credit union perk.

Canadian Walmart grocery sucks big donkey balls. The one we went to in Calgary anyway... one flavor of bagged granola? really? Our small Walmart's grocery section is 3x larger...

Border crossing was easy. 2 minutes to get through into Canada, 1 minute to get back into the US.

Tried Alberta Ice, the cheapest beer we could find. Not bad really and $18 after tax for a 15 pack wasn't too bad. Imported beers though, gawd, hard pass on paying those prices... and that $18 was at a liquor store in Banff, guessing that's somewhat inflated due to location. Seems that drinking on the cheap is possible!

Hiked a total of about 20 miles +/-. Ink pots trail, C Level Cirque trail, the Bankhead coal mine and a bunch of other shorter stuff. Feet have blisters.

Ron/Don/alwaysfloored etc sorry I didn't hit you up while I was in the area. So much to do and so little time.

We drove back Sunday, left Lake Louise at 6:45 AM and got back home at 11PM. 960 miles in one day is a long drive.
