Does anyone have a picture of what one looks like? Or what do y'all do for linkage?

The in cab shift lever bolts to the drivers side of the M5OD tail shaft housing, then has a bar that runs to shift lever on a Manual shift transfer case, electric shift are different and very hard to convert to Manual in cab shifting.

Thanks Ron, that's an excellent write up but let me clarify. I'm going from a FM to M5OD both 4wd transmissions. The original transfer case shifter will bolt up to the M5OD but is about 2" short and out of alignment. I contemplated just extending the shift arm to meet the transfer case arm but not sure if it will all pivot correctly.

You need one for a A4LD/M5OD... lucky dog those are the most common.

TK-4, FM145 and C5 use the shorter linkage assembly with a different lever into the cab, shift gate and t-case lever

The FM146, M5OD and A4LD use the longer linkage assembly with their own lever into the cab, shift gate and t-case lever.
I went through the reverse of this with my C5 swap. Recap is on post 28.

Just get the right parts, there are so many variables to the levers and not getting into gear far enough (or too far) is hard on things.
