1997 Shop manual about the hubs and bearings

I’ve never heard of a manual locking hub for a rear axle. That raises some questions in my mind.

I don't know if any came stock, But I do remember (20+ years ago) helping my neighbor converting his CJ5's rear end to locking hubs.

There was a kit that converted the stock rear end to a full floater, disc brake and locking hubs, we did it over the weekend

Manual hubs came stock that gen 97 anyway.
According to shop manual.
Rear end redo sounds really good. Do you have pics or writeup?

Still waiting to hear on the hubs. I'm beginning to think this is a new scam, find parts that people want that aren't available, charge them, never send anything.
It'll be a week tomorrow. I guess there's a way to flag it fraud with the bank if it comes to that.
I did order the hub tool. If I strike out on the Jeep hubs I can do Milemaker etc. Not sure how long to wait on the current order, seems like 2 weeks would be enough. They should at least send an update if there's a delay.

Hopefully you paid with a credit card or something you can dispute the charge and file claim. Otherwise, chances are slim you will get your money back.

I ran across similar with Torson for a front LSD. Of course they left a message about 8 or 9 months later that they had them in stock. And I no longer had the money on hand to order one.

Yes that's the backup.
There's two ways to look at it.
You want the strongest hubs you can get
Or
You don't want them super strong because you want something else to break first

I was looking for the Warns, but mm would be a lot better than the autos.

Mile Markers are just as good as Warn, I have installed them on several vehicles and never had an issue.

Hubs should be the mm 428's $200 on their site cheaper other places

I think I need the nut conversion kit? mm says I do need it.

Yes. The auto hub nut assembly mess will not work with the manual hubs.

I think Warn has them in stock, but I suppose might as well stick with the one brand.
