In my opinion. Ditch the 16.5 wheels. Go either 16 or 17. The 16.5 tire choices are very limmited and they do nothing but come off the bead when you air down off road. I too have ran 35/14.50/16.5 thordbirds. I ran than on my 79 F250. They went ok off road. But I do have a big block so power to get then to spin wasn't a problem. They drove ok i guess. They drive about the same as any other swamper untill they get worn down that is. Once they get to about 1/4 tread they will toss the truck around when you hit bad spots in the road. Keep in mind mine were on a 6,000 lb F250. I would imagine it would be worse on a 4,000 lb ranger. I have never ran the Military OZs. But I have a couple friends who did and they complained about them. Your best bet would be to swap for the thornbirds and they try ans sell them. The name swamper just has more appeal to people buying tires from my exerence.
