In opinion I think mossberg guns just plainly suck and they remind me of a rattle can because how loose everything is.. I tired going deer hunting with it and it was a pain because it made too much noise ..So now I use a Browning bps or my Remington 870 express...
The Browing BPS is a nice shotgun, I don't know if I could get used to the bottom eject (it just looks so wrong) but it looked and felt really nice. I would prefer it over the Wingmaster beside it.

The tacky wood, sandy feeling action, smaller magazine, action release on the wrong side of the trigger gaurd, lack of tang safety and sights that stick up a mile and a half over the barrel keep turning me off of the Express. I don't really use the extra shell in the mag, but I do like putting a whole box of 5 in the mag and pumping one in the chamber after I get through the barnyard and a cross a couple fences to where I am going to hunt. Dad has had an Express for years, I really do not care for it. More often than not it sits at home and dad takes out his 500 out to play.

I have had my current 500 for 15 years and haven't noticed excessive rattling that scares away the deer. Different strokes for different folks, if they were the complete crap that people love to say they are they wouldn't have been in production for 50 years and counting.

Aftermarket stocks can solve that.
If I wanted black or camo, both of which are available from Mossberg already on the gun. Aftermarket wood stocks are not terribly easy to find and add up enough to justify moving up to a fancier gun. Once apoun a time it penciled out to get nice looking stocks from the factory, both my current gun and dad's old 500 have nice looking walnut stocks.

My bad, think he has the xd? Anyways,it's the full size and I have no problems hitting headshots at 50 feet. Not my cup of tea as I'm a 1911 and revolver guy,i'm old and grew up with them before the plastic guns arrived on the scene.

I know the LC9 is a sub $400 gun,a little more w/laser but my god, that trigger sucks. I wanted to like it,it felt good in the hand, good sights and 9mm 7+1 capacity for a good price. For my daughter the searh for a carry gun continues, probably end up with a snubbie w/pink grips.

i just put a SWFA super sniper 10x on my remington. they're rated for use on a .50, have great glass for the price. you can get them in 10x, 16x, 20x. they have variable 3-9x's and a 5-20x, but they're way over $500.

yea a buddy was saying something about a scope and i think it was that... i think i am just gonna have to wait to get it to the range cause by the time i save up enough money for a good scope it wont be winter andymore and the range here only lets u shoot to 100 yard during summer cause of the high fire danger and of course a dumb*** went up there this summer and shot mini propane tanks out at 300 yrds and caught 500 acres on fire so they have ppl supervising it now

2000K huh? So what does a $2000000 rifle look like?:thefinger:

Bushnell elite 3200 fixed 10 power. Midway has them for $200. Best scope for the money, its what i have on my savage.

i'm sure people have used them on 50's. i've only read good things about that scope. the negative things people have to say just come down to personal preference. there's a ton of scopes in the $200-$400 price range that would be great. millett, SS, bushnell and even a few muellers
