Well here are some pictures of my truck with the silverstars on the driver(right) side and the stock oem halogens on the passenger(left) side of the truck. BTW sorry that the photo quality is so poor, i was using a cheaper digital camera, and also sorry if the pictures are huge, i'm still feeling out photobucket and the pictures.

Thats good photo proof of the SilverStar being whiter, brighter, and wider than the OEM bulb.

I also have the SilverStar bulbs. I upgraded to the Ultras' last year due to the night driving that I do to comute to work. Another improvement upgrade is to cleaning up the headlight lens if they are starting to yellow or frost over.

learjetminako- i have a lens cleaning kit in my truck now, just waiting to do it cause i've been lazy.....but its going to happen here soon.and daniel i'll try to get a picture or two tonight of the light output. I've also heard of the bulbs burning out prematurely but i've only had them in for 2 weeks so i imagine they will last a year or so, but i was really carefull putting them in and made sure i didnt touch the glass so we'll see what happens.

Wher'd you hear that? I bought a set in 2004 for another vehicle I owned and they were on it and working when I sold the car in June 2009.

+1

When you have a newer vehicle with the daytime running lights they don't last for poop. About 6 months most. Not worth the mulah in my opinion.
But enjoy them while they last!

I would say they last at least one year or two. I do notice in mine between the hi and low beams, there is a color change. Hi beams (which I don't use as much) are still the crisp white color. The Lo beams are starting to have a lesser white color. But they still put more light down the road for me to see.

As for running light, don't use them in those lamps. They won't last. My Blazer has hi-beam running lamps. And the SilverStar's in the hi-beams are shot. They have a yellowish color now.

So in short, the Silverstars give awsome lighting, but have a shorter lifespan.

Well it also depends on how much you have them on... I put some in my truck last year and I had them on all winter cause it gets dark in AK, but this summer they have been on maybe 4 times for less then a couple hours.

Also take into account you are comparing an old bulb to a brand new bulb which will be brighter. If you compare new bulbs side by side its not as much of a difference.

I still personally don't think they are worth 50 bucks when I can get almost as good lights for half the price.

I have the regular Silverstar bulbs in my truck and they are brighter than stock but I really don't think they were work the money I spent for them. I still trying to look for a light that is closer to a pure white. I've heard the Phillips Xtreme Vision bulbs are pretty good. I've been meaning to try those.

Don't really believe pictures that seem to make lights look better... If I wanted to I could make the same exact headlights seem worlds apart....
