hey guys,

I'm having this problem with my starter, the truck turns on fine and everything, but the starter stays engaged for maybe a second or 2 after the truck has started then it will stop everytime. i thought maybe it was my starter but no that wasnt the problem, the relay on the fender, i changed that as well, as with the ignition switch because it was a little sticky

if anyone has somewhat of a clue on what is going on here, your help would be appreciated

The part that engages the flywheel is the BENDIX, The bendix has a return spring in it that makes the gear come back out of the flywheel when the electricity to the starter is turned off.

is the bendix a part of the starter itself, or is a lone part

okay, i looked it up, apparently the bendix is a part of the starter, which is basically the starter drive.

it just seems odd that the problem would be that due to the fact i replaced the starter when i bought the truck, and had the starter warrantied because i had though the starter was a faulty one, but when i changed it again there was no change
