I'm not sure on that one, but the previous poster that mentioned 3/8" butyl tape is wrong. 3/8" is too large to allow a flush fit no matter how much pressure you apply, or how warm it is outside. The 1/4" or 5/16 is the right size. I learned this after my father blew the rear window out of my truck with the tractor's belly mower..

I swapped mine in the middle of a very hot summer, and used 2x4's strapped across the back glass with straps tightened down pulling it forward, and it still wouldn't pull in all the way. The 3/8" tape was just too large.

I have a '97 Regular cab with solid rear window (gasket install).
I bought a slider (bolt-in) from a '96 Extended cab - I failed to do enough research before making that purchase.
Does anyone know what modifications would be needed to my truck in order to make use of this sliding unit?
I also need some advice about removing the solid window without breaking it.
Any info will be appreciated.
you need to get the correct window. The entire window opening is different.

just push it out. Or if the rubber has seen better days, just cut the rubber with a razor knife, that'll make it a little easier to get out, then order a new rubber.
