Wasn't wheel horse colors white and yellow? Go find some old farts who tinker on them, they can tell you about it.
Wheel Horse was red. My dad and his neighbor bought almost the exact same wheel horses about 20 years ago. We still have ours. I think Leon gave his to his daughter and got a new mower.

wheel horse was red and white trim for sure. just sold my old one from the early 1960's. case was dark green, similar to deere but without the yellow. the small ford's were blue and white trim. cub cadet was yellow, but i don't remember them making one like that so many years ago. sears roebuck sold yellow mowers off and on in the past. could be that. i'm 60 so i've seen more than a few over the years.
my best guess would be a store brand. i'm betting there is a name on there somewhere as the rest of it is in such good shape. a little elbow grease should find it for you.

Or we could be overlooking the simplest possibility. It may just be a name brand and someone painted it.

:icon_idea: Son of a gun! You may be right!!!

Maybe it was something made by one of the big companies for Montgomry Ward or something like that.

Yeah, I don't think it really matters what brand the lawnmower is, knowing that doesn't make swapping in a 302 any harder. :3gears::D

I have the newer one, making it into a gokart, the frame is sheetmetal, barely ever rusts, very well painted, although mine is newer, its still pretty old (maybe 20 or so years?).

It's a Gibson riding mower, not gonna find a lot of info on them, but they went out of business a long time ago apparently.

It MIGHT be an older Aerins. I remember my dad buying one at a garage sale that had a yellow frame.
That would be my guess as well. It looks a lot like an Aerins we used to have.

There should be data plate on it somwhere.

Got a chance to clean some of the grime and dirt off of it, and I did find one name "Master Ride".

Never heard of that in my life, maybe a store specific brand or something?

Could be a Snapper? My grandfather has one very similar in design. But I think their colors were red and white.

snapper was red and white also. the old snappers didnt have a steering wheel. Plus they had verticle bars on the back so you could rest it on them while you worked on the blades
