I think vehicle manufacturers would rather we keep swapping out vehicles for new ones as much as possible. Dealers would be the same. Especially with leases where they can sell and make money off a vehicle twice.
People like us are counter to that. Yes, they may make some money from parts sales, at least until the vehicle warranty ends.
Heck, Ford was trying to get me to trade in the 2019 about two years after I got it. The thing hasn't been paid off yet and they were looking to make another sale. I'm sure enough people follow that model to make the effort worthwhile or they wouldn't do it. To me, that's like throwing hard earned money down the toilet. But some people are just steering wheel holders and don't want to deal with the maintenance that comes with owning a vehicle more than a few years.
