Would it be sales worthy:

if it was roughly the same size as the older Ranger?

Had a Max payload of 1200 lbs
Tows 2,700 to 3,500 lbs

Came in front wheel drive with an all wheel drive option with no transfer case

Unibody construction

Single - extended - crew cab

Gas or strong hybrid

15 or 16 inch rims max

Thoughts?

I'd drive it.

Needs a hemi sticking out of the hood, though.

I think that's what Ford's using for the Courier.
That's why I asked. I hate the idea of unibody trucks myself but wanted other options.
Maybe Gen Z will like it more?

The classic 2wd xl ranger made a great fleet truck but was also cool enough for regular people to drive... sadly I dont think this thing will get much attention other than fleet sales because its epically uncool. So it'll probably be a flop in my opinion.

It's sad, but "fleet sales" vehicles are our last chance to get a "real" pickup without all of the overcomplicated bullsh*t

My truck is a fleet truck. That thing is an abomination.

I dunno, I'd still like a VW Rabbit pickup, and the Ramcharger copy was pretty cool too in its day. This came up before and I said then it would work pretty well for me - you have to think of it differently than a traditional truck. 99% of the time I'm driving alone commuting to work, and most of the time when I need to get supplies for working on the house I'm not pushing the payload capacity of the Ranger - yet I'm still hauling around the full frame and getting shitty mileage. While the Ranger handles much better than it seems like it should, a unibody truck with car-like suspension and a nice little turbo 4cyl would be a great fit for my use.

The styling of that thing is at least a generation old and would need a major revision - it's got "Australia" written all over it. If they made a performance version with a 6spd I'd be very interested.

A 2.3 ecoboost would at least make it fun...

I mean... that was technically a thought... just not an elaborate one.

I'm thinking the market for it is Urban dwellers who need a truck for bikes, kayaks, and antiques with the occasional run to home Depot
