So I went over to my mother in laws house today for some food and a cornhole game. While I was there I took advatage of the garage to get a couple things done today.
The 18's have been rubbing a bit on turns and large bumps when the trunk is loaded down or we have someone in the back seat. Other wise it's fine. So I pulled the wheel off.
You can see here the bare metal is were the tire has chiped the paint off and the missing plastic off the rear bumper. the carpet insulation stuff I ripped off a week or so ago when I saw the tire was taring into it. I've already hammered a bit with the tire still attached at that same time.
You can see here were I've been hammering the inner lip up to get it out of the way.
I got the angle grinder out and cut away at the inner lip just behind the rear bumper and I cut away about a quarter inch of the inner bumper. Once I cut some of the inner lip off i took a hammer and bent the sharp edges out of the way.
You can see from the pics above the hammering pushed the bumper out a bit but I was able to realign it with a rubber mallet and a towel. Now it looks like nothing was done from the out side.
I also got in the new plug wires I ordered through massive. Everyone gave me so much crap for the cheapo wires I used for the tune up I did last month. So I figured I make everyone happy with these. And it'll add a bit more contrast to the bland engine compartment.
Installed!
I also tried out some tire shine and cleaned up the wheels a bit.
