More bad news tho, when I went to drive to a friends house my battery warning light came on and stayed on, I checked under the hoodand the serpentine belt was still moving so would this be the alternator? I haven't really touched anything electrical doing work on the CAI or anything else besides unplugging the MAF sensor. WTF!!!! did, my alternator just commit suicide? When I washed my truck there was like 10 drops of water on the battery, but that shouldn't matter should it?

I'm takin my truck in to the school shop tomorrow, to continue on the CAI, but more importantly check the alternator. If I need a new one, I found a used one from a 4.0 ranger on CL for $30 along with a starter. Could I use a 4.0 starter on the 3.0 too?

getting the alt. wet wont hurt it. I have washed a many engine at the car wash, and drove them while they are still wet, and never had a peroblem, your alt. just decided it was it's time.

I took the truck into school today and found out that we don't have an alt tester, no worries I'll take it to Advanced Autos tomorrow and have them check it. But even worse my hood got jammed and I spent the whole hour getting it unjammed. Now my hood doesnt sit right, and the gaps are all screwed and I wasn't able to work on the CAI.:annoyed:

It's a christmas miracle!!!! I hope...the battery warning light hasn't come on for the past 2 days with many multiple small trips, don't know what happened or what it was but, cross my fingers, I think the alternator is fine. And my CAI is basically finished, waiting til I need a new filter to get the K&N drop in and about cutting a hole in the hood, I still have to convince my dad.

when I was going up, my dad had severial Pintos, and I really likes them, my favorite was one of the first years of them, it had a 4 speed in the floor, and it was brown, but I really liked that car, then of course my dad and his friend at the county line store ruined it by placeing a 289 auto trans in it, that little car waas never the same, last tiime I saw it, my dads friend was going down the road with the back tires smoking and the fronts in the air.

I always wanted another one of the first years, I perfer that front end model, and if I can ever find a first year one with the 4 speed, and also a nomad, I'm selling my ranger to get it.

It was such a nice day out today, perfect to fight some rust, I sanded down some of the surface rust on the truck to bare metal and primed the areas. On a related side note, I found only 4 spots of actual deep rust, the last four pics.

SHE'S A SPOTTED COW!!!! Happy cows come from Wisconsin, not California:thefinger:

I also drew up the plans and made a paper model of the hood inlet.

And a friend of my dad's is scheduled to replace the clutch later this week, THANK GOD!!!!
