Hi Everyone my name is Karlie I'm a new poster but have been lurking for a few years. I could really use some info to help me.
I currently have a 1987 Bronco ii 4x4 automatic. I owned a beautiful Bronco ii that was my baby back in the 90's that was in excellent condition and unfortunately when I became pregnant had to sell it. Over the last few years I began looking to find another Bronco ii that I can restore to look like the one I let get away years ago. My original was a 1988 Bronco ii, 4x4 with a manual transmission. One of the most important aspects for me was an original blue XLT interior in pristine condition. After looking across the US for almost 2 years I found one that was perfect. However it was an automatic. My plan is to do a full frame off restoration. My exterior while not horrible is not as nice as the interior with rusting in the rear corners and other problem areas. I have just found a vehicle that I think could be an excellent donor its a 1988 Bronco ii (not 4x4) but a manual transmission. It has always been a Florida vehicle (that's where I am) and while there are a few issues on the exterior panels most pieces seems better off than mine. My questions are as follows.
1. Will the exterior panels and or doors from that 1988 fit on my 1987
2. Can I take the manual transmission out of the 1988 and put it into my 1987 to replace the automatic.
3. If that swap can be made will the 4x4 on the 88 tie into my 87 even though the 88 is not a 4x4?
Help would be greatly appreciated as I need to make a decision to buy the 88 by the end of this weekend.
Thanks in advance
Karlie
